The passage by Nathan talked about many different things. Most in which I could relate to. Being a freshman is hard at the beginning and a lot is expected of you. For example the passage talks about how freshman's have to attend specific classes and meetings. Although this is true, I see it as being the only time ill be told what to do. After my freshman year is over, I will be able to choose my own classes and I won't have to go to any more meetings that I don't want to. Also the passage talks about how the RA's which we call CA's try to involve people in things. Just like ours do here at Bloom. For example our CA's make the attempt to bring us together and better acquainted by having us participate in activities as a group. My question is do people really feel closer or do they feel obligated to attend these things?

The passage named "Rose" spoke about a waitress back in the Great Depression. This passage made me think at waitressing in a different way. Some of the things stated in the passaged never really came to my mind. I never really put much thought into how difficult it could be to be a waitress. I just always figured that it would be an easy job. The article pointed out to me some of the key things needed in order to be a good waitress. Such as being able to remember things and quickly write them down, As well as getting through small places when they are very crowded.
